Mister Douelle
Mister Douelle was born in 2012 at the Vinéa cooperage, near Jonzac, in Saint Germain de Lusignan.
It is the result of the imagination of the coopers who artisanally shape oak wood to create beautiful and high-quality barrels, true vessels for the finest wines in the world.
Its appearance is unique and gender-neutral. Its wide mouth corresponds to what was once the groove of the barrel, a carved channel where coopers insert the barrel’s bottom. Its charming name, “Douelle”, comes from the traditional term used by coopers to refer to the oak staves that form the body of a barrel
.

This little character naturally became the mascot of Vinéa. Some even call it DOOK.
A Mischievous Ambassador
Drifting with moods and places, Mister Douelle travels, wandering alone or sometimes in a pack, donning various costumes, amusing expressions, and surprising postures.
It embodies a form of freedom of expression, a creativity tinged with a touch of naivety.
It is also a charming way to repurpose noble waste materials.
As the totem of the Vinéa cooperage, its mission is to bring a spark of good humor to anyone creative enough to adopt it—thus highlighting and reminding us of our historic vocation: working with passion on an artisanal product to make wine even better!
Mister Douelle Challenge

Tonnellerie Vinea is delighted to launch the Mister Douelle Challenge 2026, an original and friendly prize draw exclusively for its professional clients and partners.
Through this competition, we invite our clients to stage Mister Douelle, Vinea’s mascot, created from a barrel stave kindly provided free of charge by your usual Vinea contacts.
The goal is simple: to share a creative moment inspired by our world.
Whether Mister Douelle joins you on holiday, at the ski slopes, in your cellar, or in any other place of your choice, let your imagination run free and try to win an exceptional barrel.
One winner will be selected by random draw from all valid entries.
Prize
🎁 One Hydro Éclat barrel – 225 litres, ex-cellar Saint-Germain-de-Lusignan (Charente-Maritime, France).
The prize cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
How to take part
Participation is simple and free of charge.
All you need to do is:
- Take a photo of your Mister Douelle. You are free to personalise our totem as you wish: dress it up, apply make-up, add accessories, etc.
- The photo may be taken wherever you like (cellar, outdoors, on holiday, or any original location).
- Provide all your contact details so that we can identify you.
- Upload the photo via the dedicated page on our website created for the event..
To be valid, each entry must mention the name of the participating company and/or its representative, as well as include a link to its social media accounts.
